The Sechelles Heritage Trust

We care about our European Heritage

A Reminder why instead of pursuing other issues we have spent the best part of 2009 to set up our Community Charity shop – required Network.

We visited Age Concern in Bromley yesterday, for those in the London voluntary business, the very special project of Age concern in Bromley, resources and office. The issues we addressed regarding, the state of things in the Voluntary Sector, challenges facing NCVO, LVSC and many others. Most important, Ethnic community working – particularly in such global situation, social development, political state of things – grave economic crises.
There are very many in London, Britain who are not happy, at ease with what we have addressed on our community portal. We could have been more revealing, it has taken a lot and very great deal of restrain and self censorship, disciplines not to be reckless in addressing our History and past community needs and such problematic.
Only this morning we came across a poster featuring the History of Black people in Britain/London. That Evelyn Oldfield – Sainsbury Trust, Refugee History project. It is a great deal easier in such above mention climate to overlook, even refuse to give the smallest amount of time to this very burning issue.
Very many we have talked, discuss, seek support, expertise to set up our Community Charity shop and network have with large eyes quarried – why are we investing so much energy, precious time, the pick of our life to putting together this project.

With Sir James Mancham publication of his autobiography. The Sechelles – Seychelles we grew up in, attended school. Our Teacher, church and parents efforts to drum home “ Charity begins at Home”.
As 4th, 5th generation exile, migrants to settle in EU and Britain – specially the emphasis in British thinking, society, church practice and belief, the politicians, the mass of voluntary institutions and what we have come to term archaic, fraternal or such philanthropic institutions, “Charity begins at Home”.

Very, very unfortunately this belief, strong view and practice is not meant to apply to our community in Britain – London. We have been excluded – we are excluded, the need to ask why and who are those involved, their reason and motives. We will not get involved in any issues which many may judge as runt or rave.
Because and precisely those who have quarried, ask if we do not have anything better to do with our time. Because they have read about us on the web, aware of our life work and many contributions in the world affairs the past 30 years – their questioning. Rather is there nobody from your Community who is prepared to take, invest time in this long term project.

Our real training, other interest lies in the Interdisciplinary – Multidisciplinary Management. This for the past 30 years, what we have addressed on the web site for the above. The state of British and European economy back in 1978/9. How we work and why we work in such issues. Events of the changes in COMECON, USSR, Africa, the USA. The important economic crash to events of the last major, global economic collapse.
We have addressed several important thread articles on this, the why and cause.

We want to underline here, whatever strong national grievance, hate, dislike those have, hold against our Sechelles – Seychelles EU community. In serious Interdisciplinary – Multidisciplinary management practice it very unserious, asking for trouble when a given Community like ours have been involved and contributed to the extent it have for the past 30 years in Britain, London and EU and this totally refuted, ignored for whatever callous motives.
Because we attended, visited Age Concern office in Bromley, this morning those who very discretely left a copy of London Lite, with the very many Business, financial, corporate coverage – development. We read them on the bus on the way to here and the camera on the bus and all those on the bus who saw us read the very many issues. Equally those who have not gone to great University, do not have high or very big position in society or they have – the gutter language – communication. Here is one of those who have done and is still doing a very great deal to make the economy work, the finance wheel turn, in £ millions and billions. He, they are not earning a cent – god only knows how they live and survive. The stink of the corruption and those involved, the practice. Those who are using him and their community. If/should they dare protest, the Police will land like tons of cements and brick on them – the methods use to shut him or them up. The terrible abuse.

Yet again we attend church this Sunday at a very important church in London and the Sermon by the Vicar. The book he mentioned and recommended leading/management not from the top/front but form the back. My mind when back to Lady Thatcher, the Austrian Professor advising her and today sir Richard Branson management approach – the media covering over his style of corporate management for the past 25 years. What lead Sir Richard Branson to adopt this brand of Management practice and one or two others we know of. This church is situated near Harrods. The state of the world, financial, economic and politic, policing.

In addressing our needs to start this project we underlined to those from agencies like Age Concern, the UN, other important UN agencies, EU institutions, the commonwealth, the francophone , Wango and very many others. The importance, need for Migrant communities, whatever their circumstance to help, contribute to build their native land economy and society. Which we the Sechelles – Seychelles EU community, British have done very significantly and importantly. Including the surrounding Indian ocean Nations.

The wanton corruptive practice, involving the very International institutions who promote , advocate and encourage such action on the part of Migrant communities. The they turn round and deny completely their involvements and contributions. This practice stinks to high heaven. It is revolting. In carrying out such practice, we are there by deny any rights to donation, financial contributions and such supports. For this very reason we are stating and advocating, that community second shop and network , since last year the theme “ Charity begins at Home”. Here in term of real Accountability, in hard cash, positive in put and good will such communities put in and they are due. Yet the $ billions and millions they get, their many NGO’s and in Britain – London, the EU our community function like dogs with out Homes, animals badly mistreated, community excluded – outcast. Hence our theme for this community Shop and network “ Charity begins at Home”.

On our Community forums, that of AKS and several others, the state of things which led to the closure of the High Commission under Mr Roland Rasool. The Sechelles – Seychelles British relation. How with that community portal project we have not only brought about a major turn about of this relation, situation including other EU countries. Again not credits given.

We have read at the Seychelles – e- news of the reopening of the High Commission in London and the person designated to take this Office. We are talking of important political and diplomatic development. Those involved can and may have the best resources. When any government goes about that way. A given body, agency or community have lend to such major change, turn about of events and they are completely ignored – they are courting and asking very big difficulties which even those at the UN, the EU Commission, the EU Parliament, Council of Europe, African Union, the Commonwealth and Francophone, including Wango will have to admit will be the case. It is very necessary for everybody to be reminded and take due note, the state of things, prevailing practice prior to the closure of the former High commission in London.
